Staff Accountant

We are a privately held hospitality and real estate investment company based in Oak Brook, IL. We own and operate a diverse portfolio of boutique hotels, restaurants, and mixed-use properties across the Midwest. Our mission is to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and sustainable growth.
As our business continues to expand, we are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of accounting operations within a dynamic and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank accounts on a regular basis.
Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate and timely financial information.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper expense coding and reporting.
Support external audit requests and help maintain documentation for compliance purposes.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency within the department.
Perform additional accounting tasks and projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Controller.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or professional services setting.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting software (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Effective communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
CPA or CPA-track preferred, but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, based on experience.
