Senior Accountant – Briotech
Reporting to the Controller, the primary responsibility is to support and assist all members of the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government regulations. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment. This role involves performing general ledger reconciliations, assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes, inventory valuation, and supporting accounts payable and receivable functions. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
Pay Range: $90K - $105K
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–5 years of accounting experience, including inventory, month end & AP/AR management.
Experience in CPG or manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel skills.
Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop and NetSuite systems preferred).
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting:
Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
Prepare sales data by SKU for entry into accounting system.
Support the month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
Maintain and update accounting records and files.
Prepare and review bank reconciliations.
Monitor and reconcile credit card transactions and employee expense reports.
Assist in cash flow management.
Assist in developing and improving accounting processes and procedures.
Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support financial operations.
Process and review invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Assist in managing customer billing, collections, and cash applications.
Monitor and maintain aging reports for accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Compliance:
Assist with tax filings, audits, and compliance reporting as required.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
