Staff Pharmacist – Retail Pharmacy
Position Summary:
The Staff Pharmacist plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient dispensing of medications in a retail pharmacy environment. This position is responsible for providing exceptional patient care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the pharmacy team in daily operations.
️ Key Responsibilities: •
Prescription Verification & Dispensing •
Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions. •
Dispense medications in accordance with federal and state regulations. •
Patient Counseling & Education •
Provide clear, compassionate counseling on medication usage, side effects, and storage. •
Offer guidance on over-the-counter (OTC) products and general health inquiries. •
Regulatory Compliance •
Ensure adherence to all pharmacy laws, HIPAA regulations, and company policies. •
Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and prescription logs. •
Inventory Management •
Monitor stock levels, order medications, and manage expired or recalled products. •
Collaborate with suppliers and pharmacy technicians to maintain inventory accuracy. •
Team Collaboration •
Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns. •
Support the Pharmacy Manager in achieving operational goals and customer satisfaction. •
Clinical Services •
Administer immunizations and health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, cholesterol). •
Participate in medication therapy management (MTM) and wellness programs.
Qualifications: •
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution. •
Active pharmacist license in the state of practice. •
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
