Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable
Pharmacist
to join our team in Milwaukee, WI. This contract-to-hire role offers consistent afternoon/evening hours and the opportunity to transition into a permanent position. The ideal candidate will ensure safe, effective dispensing of medications while providing exceptional patient care and professional guidance.
Responsibilities Accept, verify, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and clinical standards. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify potential overuse patterns. Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for each patient. Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy files. Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and proper storage. Provide consultation on prescription and OTC medications. Offer patient services such as: Smoking cessation guidance Blood pressure monitoring Cholesterol management
Educate patients on proper use of medical devices (e.g., BP monitors, glucose meters). Compound medications for internal and external use. Prepare sterile solutions according to established procedures. Supervise and support pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. Identify drug-related issues and communicate effectively with prescribers and healthcare teams. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, interns, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
degree required. Active Wisconsin RPh License
(must be maintained in good standing). Strong clinical judgment and ability to identify medication-related problems. Excellent communication and patient education skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Experience with compounding and sterile preparation preferred.
Schedule Primary:
Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM Potential:
