Position Details: Pharmacist- Morristown, VT Location : Morristown, VT 05661 Project Duration : 13 Weeks Contract Shift : Days/Evenings

Job Summary The Pharmacist ensures safe, accurate, and effective medication dispensing while providing high-quality clinical support and patient counseling. This role collaborates with healthcare providers and pharmacy staff to optimize medication therapy, promote patient safety, and maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities Verify and dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and facility protocols. Review medication orders for appropriateness, interactions, allergies, and contraindications. Provide counseling and education to patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence. Advise physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers on drug therapy and clinical considerations. Oversee and verify the work of pharmacy technicians and support staff. Perform medication therapy management (MTM) and support clinical programs as applicable. Manage controlled substances in accordance with DEA and state regulations. Maintain accurate medication records, documentation, and patient profiles in pharmacy systems. Ensure proper storage, handling, and inventory management of medications. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and regulatory compliance activities. Support immunization programs (if certified and permitted by state laws). Provide excellent customer service and resolve medication-related issues promptly.

Qualifications: Education:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy).

Licensure:

Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in Vermont. Immunization certification if preferred.

Experience:

Must also have hospital experience, not just retail. Familiar with unit dose, IV admixtures, computer skills, technical and clinical pharmacy practice
