Jobs via Dice . TEKsystems is seeking Data Center Fiber Technicians for our client in TX. Per Diem:
$150/day + Travel costs to Texas are covered. Shift:
7am - 7pm or 7pm - 7am; 3 weeks on / 1 week off or 6 days on / 2 days off. Workplace Type:

Responsibilities
Level II Performs mid-level splicing functions for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects. Advanced ability to read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrices to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled. Determine equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and perform splicing functions within a live customer facility. Independently and safely perform mid-sheath cable entry using proper tools. Perform mid-level single and/or ribbon splices with the understanding of large cable count numbering. Read/process test results and troubleshoot basic issues identified during testing. Proficient in mid-level OTDR and power meter testing. Install and/or research installation procedures for all splice enclosures. Perform basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization. Communicate effectively with internal teammates and external stakeholders, addressing issues and providing customer-centric solutions. Respond promptly to critical situations and emergency outages with appropriate urgency. Maintain awareness of safety risks and adhere to safety requirements and standards. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Level III Perform complex splicing projects for both new and existing customers with little to no direction. Troubleshoot customer networks and read/process test results to provide customer deliverables. Create Smart Sheets and Excel trackers to accurately track project schedules and progress. Independently read/interpret prints and create work assignments for other Technicians. Collect all pertinent information from pre-job inspections and customer field meetings. Support operational leadership with management of on-site project elements such as time, materials, documentation, production updates, tools, and equipment. Interact with external vendors, customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership to disseminate accurate information. Identify and escalate project and personnel issues to operational leadership where appropriate. Create training plans and conduct training for other Technicians; lead in the field driving quality, efficiency, production, and safety. Serve as an ADB Culture Champion and drive culture pillar events. Utilize expert-level splicing skills to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across the Splicing group. Maintain advanced understanding of safety risks in a safety-sensitive position and adhere to safety requirements and standards. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range:
$23.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be specific to elections, plan, or program terms.
