Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the financial operations of our organization in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in accounting and financial management, capable of handling complex budgets, compliance, and reporting. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
- Coordinate and prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial variance reports, providing insights into funding sources and recommendations for improvements.
- Monitor accounting data and generate detailed financial statements for stakeholders, including management, board members, and funders.
- Oversee grant and contract compliance, ensuring adherence to reporting requirements and submission deadlines.
- Prepare annual audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Implement and revise internal control policies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with financial standards.
- Manage cash flow and investments, maintaining liquidity and overseeing banking relationships.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to leadership, contributing to organizational planning and decision-making.
- Participate in development activities, including conferences and training, to maintain industry knowledge.
- At least two years of managerial experience and ten years of accounting experience.
- Background in construction project accounting is highly desirable.
- Advanced credentials such as CPA or CMA are preferred.
- Proven ability to prepare financial statements in compliance with established guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced knowledge of financial systems and tools.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly and concisely.
