Job Description
Our client, a rapidly growing, privately held oil and gas company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its dynamic and high-performing team. Specializing in the identification, acquisition, and development of oil and gas properties, the company is led by an exceptional leadership team with a strong and proven track record of success in the industry.

high visibility reporting directly to the Controller . It’s an opportunity to take ownership of critical accounting functions, work closely with senior leadership, and have a tangible impact on the financial operations of a well-capitalized, strategically expanding organization. About the Role
As Senior Accountant, you’ll own key areas of the month-end and year-end close, prepare and review financial statements, and oversee complex upstream oil & gas accounting entries. You’ll collaborate across departments to ensure data accuracy, bring insight to leadership through reporting and analysis, and continually refine processes for efficiency and scale. Key Responsibilities
Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timeliness and GAAP compliance Prepare and review key journal entries (derivatives, depletion, ARO, amortization, depreciation, prepaid accounts, interest, etc.) Manage balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules Reconcile intercompany and related-party accounts, resolving discrepancies quickly Draft monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement packages, including cash flow statements, roll-forwards, and variance analyses Partner with auditors during interim and year-end audits, coordinating PBC requests and addressing control questions Review new contracts and advise on appropriate accounting treatment Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within the accounting function Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in upstream oil & gas Strong GAAP knowledge with hands-on experience in DD&A, ARO, and derivative accounting Experience with Quorum OnDemand or OGsys is a plus Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data CPA but not required What Our Client Offers
