Job Type: Hybrid or Onsite. Requisition ID: WATER005878. Job Title: Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer. Purpose: lead and deliver water, wastewater, and groundwater projects in any Water office. Role includes planning, design, construction, and project management of water resources and municipal utility infrastructure. Responsibilities
Lead team delivery of drinking water projects including evaluation and detailed design of intake structures, surface and ground water treatment plants, water reuse systems, storage, pumping, and transmission and distribution projects. Prepare master planning reports and documentation required for grants and loans. Act as a self-motivated subject matter expert; participate in local professional organizations, prepare and present market-specific papers and presentations. Articulate and operate within the One Water paradigm. Integrate smart water systems, process automation, and machine learning into water production and distribution design. Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and other applicable engineering design tools. Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, and CAD disciplines to produce plans and specifications. Assist in marketing opportunities with key clients and respond to RFP/RFQs. Provide marketing, technical leadership, and support during procurement and execution of projects. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships; assist with permitting, property acquisition, and stakeholder involvement. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams; manage and deliver projects on time and within budget. Mentor staff and contribute to team growth. Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering. At least 10 years of relevant experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license; Illinois PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date. Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and/or Wisconsin network of water/wastewater connections. Regional expertise in water supply, treatment, storage, and/or distribution. Active participation in professional organizations. Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills; excellent technical writing and client relationship skills; excellent design team leadership. Additional Qualifications
Master of Science (MS) or PhD in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering. Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary is competitive and will be determined by qualifications, experience, geographic location, internal equity, and company policy. Pay ranges are disclosed where required by law.
