The salary range for this position is $210,000 – $409,700. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Davis is seeking a dynamic faculty member to serve as a Molecular Pathologist at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank, in the Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series. Formal director-level leadership opportunities may be available for well-qualified candidates in this area. UC Davis Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, led by Chair Dr. Florette Kimberly Hazard, is an innovative and growing department. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Pathology and will be an operational leader, providing strategic vision and collaborative implementation to enhance the department's Molecular Pathology Division and laboratory testing. Clinical and administrative responsibilities will include medical, technical, and scientific directorship of division staff and laboratory personnel in collaboration with the department Chair and other department section leaders, with the expectations of supervising molecular laboratory operations, participating in test reporting and new test development, while contributing to quality assurance and accreditation activities. Participation in the institution's research/scholarly mission is expected, as a collaborator or as an intellectual leader of clinically oriented research projects, depending on the academic series chosen for appointment. The candidate will have multiple opportunities for collaboration within the UC Davis Health System, including the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and the California National Primate Center. Additional academic responsibilities include teaching housestaff and medical students, with participation in interdisciplinary conferences, and curriculum development in subspecialty areas. Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service. Qualifications

A California professional license or eligibility for licensure in California is required. The successful candidate must have an MD, DO, PhD, or combined MD/PhD or DO/PhD. Candidates with MD or DO degrees must be board-eligible or certified in Clinical Pathology and Molecular Pathology (or comparable board). All candidates must be US Citizens, permanent residents or hold an employment visa. Experience in a clinical or academic setting that includes clinical care, teaching, and research appropriate for appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in one of UC Davis's clinically intensive academic series (Clinical X or HSCP). The ability to maintain a high level of service, work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment, and exhibit excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with medical and technical staff, trainees, and others.
