As an Onsite Storage Consultant, you will provide Level 2 / 3 support, responding to incidents, managing change and service requests, driving problem management, and planning and executing infrastructure improvements, including firmware upgrades. You will work closely with a varied clientele and must possess a strong understanding of NetApp storage technologies.
Job Requirements
Extensive hands-on experience with NetApp Storage (CDOT and 7-Mode), including deployment, administration, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
Proficient in Brocade SAN Switches and related SAN technologies
Deep understanding of NetApp Storage concepts and management tools (Snapshots, controller failover, provisioning, deduplication, cloning, SnapMirror, IntelliSnap)
Experience with additional NetApp technologies such as StorageGRID, E-Series, and SolidFire is highly desirable.
Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Ansible are beneficial
Solid grasp of infrastructure components, including NetApp / Cisco FlexPod architecture, Cisco UCS platform, IBM BladeCenter, System X, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft operating systems and applications
Strong knowledge of storage protocols and technologies (CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel)
Familiarity with ITIL methodologies : change, incident, problem, and configuration management (ITIL Fundamentals certification desirable)
Understanding of outsourcing, managed services, and cloud industry practices
Working knowledge of monitoring platforms, WANs, SANs, backup, and disaster recovery platforms.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver Level 2 / 3 support for storage operations, including incident response, change management, and service requests.
Plan and perform firmware and operating system upgrades for customer environments.Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues across NetApp storage platforms
Manage backup integration and replication technologies, including SnapMirror and IntelliSnap
Administer and optimise storage solutions using management tools such as OnCommand Unified Manager, Performance Manager, and Cloud Insight
Coordinate with senior customer representatives and internal sales teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Document all incidents, changes, and problem resolutions in accordance with ITIL methodologies
Design, build, deploy, and test infrastructure and disaster recovery solutions.
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for infrastructure and operational processes.
