Position Overview

Miami Dade College (MDC) is seeking a passionate and experienced Surgical Technologist to join the Health Sciences team as
Faculty, Surgical Technology Skills . In this role, you’ll guide and inspire the next generation of professionals in a field where precision, compassion, and innovation matter most.

Responsibilities
Teach Surgical Technology courses through hands-on lab instruction, classroom lectures, and clinical training
Create engaging, industry-relevant course materials that align with student learning outcomes
Assess student progress and provide timely academic and career advising
Collaborate on curriculum updates that reflect current healthcare practices and technological advancements
Support recruitment and retention initiatives through outreach and student engagement
Contribute to college-wide efforts by serving on campus and academic committees
Maintain accurate academic records and communicate regularly with the Department Chairperson
Qualifications You’re a strong candidate if you have:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in any field; and,
Associate’s degree or certificate in Surgical Technology or Surgical Servies from a regionally accredited college/university, and;
Valid national certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
All educational degrees must be from Regionally accredited institutions
A minimum of 3 years of full-time operating room experience as a surgical technologist and/or instructional experience in the field
Experience with tech tools and a student-centered approach to education

MDC accepts foreign transcript evaluations only from NACES or AICE agencies.
International transcript(s) must also include a foreign transcript evaluation at the time of application submission.
Doctoral Stipend awarded in addition to higher base pay, as applicable
Start date for this Faculty position is
scheduled on or before Spring Semester 2026
Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience in field
