Position Overview The Adjunct Faculty member supervises students in clinical settings. Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.
What you will be doing
Prepare course schedule
Evaluate and advise students
Prepare exams
Prepare syllabus
Monitor class roster
Maintain schedule that allows for student meetings
Schedule laboratory sessions for the skills component of the course
Teach in lecture and laboratory settings; blended and virtual environments
Disseminate information and recruit students for service‑learning initiatives
Assess student performance in the clinical setting
Perform other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in a relevant field and a Certificate in Dental Assisting with Expanded Function (EFDA) from an American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program at a regionally accredited institution; Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB); and three (3) years of full‑time work and/or instructional experience as a Certified Dental Assistant
All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
Possess excellent and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend assignments
Ability to work in a multi‑ethnic/multi‑cultural environment
