Primary mission Maintain the hotel assets through ongoing preventative maintenance programs and ensure that all mechanical systems are operating in accordance with Springboard Hospitality standards. Promote quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
Scope of Work & Team
Reports to Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer
Supports Engineering department
Responsibilities
Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
Maintain rooms in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as needed. Repair televisions, phones, clock radios, replace or repair damaged bathroom/kitchen fixtures, perform general plumbing, and touch-up painting as needed. Maintain room heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems. Use power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
Understand the Room Preventative Maintenance Program. Prepare daily maintenance carts and perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel, including front and heart of house areas, interior and exterior. Maintain lobbies and public areas. Repair furniture, carpet, tile and laminates. Maintain laundry/housekeeping equipment. Repair/replacement of windows and mirrors. Maintain exterior of buildings and grounds.
Maintain operating equipment by performing routine checks and repairs.
Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness of maintenance work areas.
Assist in pool and spa maintenance and handle pool chemicals safely.
Handle master set of keys per Springboard Hospitality standards for hotel security.
Respond to emergencies (fire alarms, security threats, disasters, power failures) and notify appropriate authorities.
Make rounds to ensure everything is in working order; complete maintenance requests and take equipment/meter readings; maintain shift logs.
Document parts used and parts needed for purchase.
Handle elevator breakdowns and report unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer.
Qualifications
Experience:
2+ years in building maintenance; experience in construction trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC; ability to manage building mechanical systems and controls, electrical systems, energy management, interior finishes and products.
IT Expertise:
Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office, Outlook) and web analytics tools is preferred.
Education:
High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
Subject Expertise: Knowledge of property safety and security procedures; ability to set up machines, create signs, assist with parking lot and snow removal; ability to make keys; perform special projects as assigned.
Other Expectations
Abide by payroll policies, procedures and rules of conduct as stated in the Springboard Hospitality Associate Handbook.
Demonstrate knowledge of company safety and security procedures.
Travel as needed for hotel familiarization, content creation shoots, and meetings with colleagues.
Hours: primarily Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (PST); weekend/holiday work may be required due to hotel operations.
