We’re looking for passionate innovators to join our Generative AI and Embedded Software Integrated Solutions (GenESIS) team, where you'll help shape the next generation of embedded platform software powering Blue Origin's entire fleet of space vehicles. As part of GenESIS, you'll work at the exciting convergence of mission-critical embedded systems and cutting-edge Blue Origin Generative AI technology.
Your Impact as a Senior Software Engineer You'll leverage your expertise as part of our highly collaborative team, developing essential platform software (drivers, middleware/IO, and more) and innovative tools for varied spaceflight systems. In this position, you will:

Build cutting-edge platform software for embedded avionics systems, including device drivers, middleware, and applications that power next-generation aerospace technology
Partner closely with hardware and systems engineers to shape software requirements and create seamless integration across multiple hardware platforms
Contribute your voice to architecture and design discussions that influence the future of embedded systems
Drive innovation through performance optimization and implementation of scalable, portable software solutions
Ensure highest quality by conducting comprehensive testing, debugging, and performance analysis across varied hardware environments
Create lasting impact by developing clear, comprehensive documentation including requirements, design specifications, and API references that benefit the entire team
Act as a mentor through collaborative code reviews and constructive feedback that elevates everyone's capabilities
Harness collaborative skills as you integrate avionics platform software into a varied portfolio of groundbreaking products
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in embedded software development
Proficiency in C/C++ programming
Deep understanding of real-time systems, multitasking, and synchronization in embedded environments
Experience with software loaders, device drivers, middleware (I/O, BIT), hardware abstraction, and low-level interfaces
Knowledge of multiple hardware architectures (ARM, x86) and RTOS/Linux embedded environments
Experience with CI/CD environments and tools such as Gitlab, Jira, Confluence
Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative teamwork experience
Excellent communication skills and commitment to collaborative team culture
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with NASA Core Flight Software (CFE)
Knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN) and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT)
Experience in safety-critical software development within aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
Compensation Compensation ranges vary by location. For example: CA applicants is $177,567.00-$248,593.80; CO applicants is $163,272.00-$228,579.75; WA applicants is $177,567.00-$248,593.80. Other site ranges may differ.
