Recreation/Park Facility Manager II (Facility Director) . The
Recreation/Park Facility Manager II (Facility Director)
is responsible for the day to day operations and management of the facility. Duties include: supervising full time and part time program staff as well as overseeing maintenance, security and improvements of the facility and its equipment; facility rental; all marketing and public relations for facilities programs; expenditures and revenues, cash handling and budgeting; and establishing operating procedures. Please note that the above salary range represents earning potential. The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $64,689 - $89,628. Facility Management
Oversees daily operations. Manages community center. Establish, recommends and monitor operating procedures (i.e. hours, building maintenance and repairs). Receives and maintains all necessary certifications to oversee operations (i.e. childcare, preschool). Responds to questions, complaints, and inquiries from patrons. Creates a comprehensive programming plan of classes, activities and special events to serve the area. This includes creating, developing, implementing, marketing, and evaluating. Meets with citizens, community groups, schools and associations within service area. Reviews, approves, and prepares rental requests/agreements. Ensures that all scheduled facility programming is run on time, as scheduled daily. Personnel Management
Recruits, interviews, selects, and trains for the community center and programs. Supervises career, intermittent, volunteer, and contracted employees. Completes an annual performance evaluation for intermittent and career staff. Counsels and discipline employees as needed. Plans, schedules, and assigns work. Approve timecards and leave requests for intermittent and career staff. Fiscal Management
Prepares budget recommendations for supervisor to review and approve. Monitors and tracks facility revenues and expenditures within approved budget for the community center assigned. Serves as petty cash fund custodian. Initiates purchase card request, purchase requisitions, and check request for the purchase of equipment and supplies for facility operations and program needs. Manages and maintains asset inventory. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Facility Management, Recreation Management, Education, Business Administration, Physical Education, Communication, Leisure Services, or any related field. Two (2) years of responsible professional experience working in a facility related to parks, recreation, leisure services, or area of required specialty (e.g., arts, performing arts, equestrian, tennis, aquatics, gymnastics, ice rinks); including one (1) year as a facility manager, program coordinator or supervisor. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total six (6) years. Valid driver’s license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Driver's license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions or points that could limit the employee's ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required of the position. Contingent upon area of assignment, some positions in this class may require valid: (a) operating license (e.g., county pool operator, childcare license) as appropriate; (b) First Aid, CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED) certifications; or (c) certifications as related to assignment (e.g., Lifeguard Instruction, Fundamentals of Gymnastics).
