UC Health is hiring a part-time Lab Technician for the phlebotomy department for first shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required and formal phlebotomy training program / externship.
Phlebotomy experience preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Knowledge of specimen requirements; familiarity with laboratory terminology, turnaround times, and the ability to read and comprehend written information.
Keyboarding skills and ability to perform in a fast paced environment.
Ability to provide effective customer service in accordance with hospital RITE values.
Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture, skin puncture, or other special collection technique.
Follow proper patient identification protocols and established blood collection protocols.
Access specimens into Laboratory Information System (LIS) ensuring demographic information is accurate and complete.
Prioritize workload to ensure specimen collection and transport to the laboratory is completed in a timely manner.
Clean and stock phlebotomy cart/tray and workstation at end of shift.
Deliver specimens to the various testing departments and ensure all specimens are accounted for at the end of shift.
Communicate the status of uncompleted collections and monitor Mobile Care Phlebotomy System.
Provide excellent customer service and answer phone inquiries demonstrating RITE values.
Perform safety and quality checks: centrifugation, aliquoting, stabilizing for transport, measuring volume, and assessing adequacy of specimens for testing.
Train associates/students in phlebotomy/processing tasks and complete all mandatory competencies and training modules.
Participate in staffing meetings and follow all department and hospital policies and procedures.
