Visiting Assistant Professor in Mathematics (Multiple Positions)
Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for several Visiting Assistant Professor positions in the School of Mathematics. The appointment is a three‑year, annually renewable research and teaching position with research funding. The successful candidate will demonstrate an exceptional commitment to teaching and mentoring students.
About the School of Mathematics The School of Mathematics provides instruction and conducts research in a wide variety of mathematical sciences, including algorithms, combinatorics, optimization, computational science, engineering, bioinformatics, quantitative bioscience, and machine learning. It collaborates across the university in numerous interdisciplinary institutes and programs.
Location Atlanta, GA
Responsibilities
Develop an international‑level research program.
Collaborate across the university in research and grant efforts.
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
Required Qualifications
A PhD or its equivalent in the Mathematical Sciences, awarded no more than five years prior to the start of the appointment.
Earned doctoral degree by the start of the appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Potential to conduct research of exceptional quality at Georgia Tech.
Research interests complementary to existing strengths in the School of Mathematics.
Strong potential for external funding.
Ability in teaching, scholarship, and/or service that contributes to the Institute's Student Success Criteria.
Required Documents
Cover letter expressing interest in the position.
Curriculum vitae, including a list of publications.
Research statement summarizing future research plans.
Evidence of teaching interest and experience summarized in a teaching statement.
A list of at least four letters of reference, including a teaching reference.
