As our paint and refinishing division continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced
Outside Sales Specialist
with deep technical knowledge of yacht coatings and finishing systems.
This role is dedicated to the growth of our paint and refinishing pipeline. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new coating, paint, and finishing projects, conducting technical site assessments, preparing accurate estimates, and guiding clients through the refinishing process with the highest level of professionalism.
You will act as the commercial lead for all exterior refinishing enquiries—working closely with our paint supervisors, fairing teams, and project managers to ensure accuracy of scope, correct sequencing of work, and alignment to our finishing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Drive new business acquisition specifically within
yacht paint, refinishing, coatings repair, and surface restoration .
Conduct detailed vessel inspections, including assessment of substrate condition, fairing lines, coatings failures, and environmental/yard requirements.
Prepare technical scopes of work and costed proposals for projects including full resprays, partial repaints, fairing, touch‑ups, repairs, polishing, and warranty remediation.
Present and articulate coatings systems (Awlgrip, Awlcraft, Alexseal, filler/fairing systems, primers, topcoats) to clients with confidence and accuracy.
Maintain relationships with captains, yacht managers, owner’s reps, and brokers to secure repeat and referral work.
Represent Aquamare Marine USA at shipyards, industry events, dockwalks, and technical networking forums.
Work closely with paint supervisors and craftsmen to validate scopes, confirm access requirements, and align on schedule feasibility.
Maintain accurate sales pipeline data, CRM updates, and revenue forecasts.
Monitor market developments, paint technology advancements, and competitor offerings to support pricing and strategic positioning.
Paint & Refinishing Teams
Translate client expectations, technical requirements, and sequencing constraints clearly to the coatings, fairing, and spray teams.
Project Managers
Handover refined scopes, budgets, and timelines to ensure clean project execution and client satisfaction.
Operations / Yard Logistics
Coordinate haul‑outs, tenting, containment, scaffolding, access panels, and environmental compliance.
Provide commercial insights to support pricing models, margin structure, and service expansion.
Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrated sales success within
marine coatings, yacht painting, or luxury yacht refit .
Strong technical understanding of the complete paint lifecycle—from substrate preparation and fairing to primers, topcoats, cut/polish, and inspection standards.
Ability to evaluate coatings failures (orange peel, inclusions, clusters, solvent pops, delamination, gloss issues, UV fading).
Familiarity with manufacturer systems such as
Awlgrip, Awlcraft, Alexseal , fillers/fairing compounds, spray equipment, and inspection tools.
Confident communicator with high‑net‑worth clients, captains, and technical stakeholders.
Highly organised and able to manage multiple opportunities at varying stages.
Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office/Excel.
Valid driver’s license with ability to travel across South Florida and occasionally nationwide.
