is a women's only residential and outpatient treatment center. We are currently looking to add creative, compassionate, and innovative individuals to the team in the position of PART TIME Associate Therapist! As Santa Barbara's only licensed and accredited treatment program for women, we deliver high quality integral care in a collaborative team environment. Our unique curriculum is designed to help women and staff flourish. We offer engaging, culturally sensitive psychoeducation/process groups and love staff collaboration to enhance our curriculum. You will learn how to be confident running groups while we support self‑care for our team.

Schedule Part time, to include evenings and weekends.

Primary Purpose and Function The Associate Therapist provides direct service to the clients including individual, couple/family and group psychotherapy, consultations and crisis intervention.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Provide individual counseling to clients using therapeutic interventions aligned with treatment goals

Conduct family counseling sessions to support healthy communication and family involvement in the recovery process

Facilitate therapeutic, psychoeducation, and process groups as assigned

Develop and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the client and clinical team

Complete biopsychosocial assessments and other clinical evaluations as needed

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support effective discharge planning and care coordination

Respond to client needs with timely and appropriate crisis intervention

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with Joint Commission standards and state licensing requirements

Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Clinical Officer and Executive Team to support client care and organizational needs

Requirements Core Competency

Knowledge of substance use and mental health treatment, family systems and 12 step recovery resources in the community

Group facilitation

Treatment planning & progress notes

Therapeutic crisis intervention

Discharge planning

Proficiency in electronic medical record systems (EMR)

Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally

Possess a professional demeanor and a collaborative spirit

Cultural competency and client‑centered care approach

Minimum Qualifications

Registered associate in a related field (AMFT, ACSW, APCC) or equivalent required

Master's degree in MFT, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or closely related field required

Current professional liability insurance preferred

Current CPR & First Aid Certification and TB/Health Screen within 60 days of employment (or willing to obtain upon 7 days of hire)

Basic computer skills, experience in MS Office or Google Suite preferred

Experience in a behavioral health treatment facility preferred

Coursework in psychology, addiction studies or social work preferred

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and insurable by our insurance carrier

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Ability to sit, stand, walk, and respond quickly to emergencies

Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs

Exposure to clients in emotional distress or crisis situations

Work performed in office, residential, or detox environment
