Job Description
The School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) was established to drive the expansion of NUS’ lifelong learning offerings in a concerted and strategic way that furthers our mission to be a leading global university, as well as fulfil our role as a public university of Singapore, shaping the future.
Through SCALE, working adults (i.e. professionals, managers and executives) who aspire to stay relevant and ahead of competition, companies looking to up‑skill/re‑skill their workforce, and even youths exploring quality tertiary education options, have access to NUS’ suite of innovative, world‑class continuing and lifelong education offerings.
Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi‑disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/education programmes, part‑time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs of individuals. All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency.
About the Role To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our Industry Engagement Unit as Administrative Executive (Capstone Projects).
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director (Industry Engagement), the incumbent assists in a wide range of administrative and outreach duties that need to be executed in an effective and efficient manner to support the management of the Capstone Projects for NUS SCALE’s Masters programmes.
This role is offered on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract basis.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Activities relating to market outreach:
Conduct market outreach activities by engaging companies to secure Capstone Projects
Organise events for industry partners
Activities relating to Capstone Project administration:
Engage Academic Directors to scope Capstone Projects submitted by companies
Develop Capstone Project administrative timeline for each semester
Match students to Capstone Projects
Follow up with students on progress in completing the Capstone Projects
Prepare and schedule the final Capstone Project presentation
Submit Capstone Project scores to APO Unit for final grading
Conduct administrative tasks to ensure all details are accurate, complete, proper and timely
Organise events to showcase Capstone Projects
Key performance indicators:
Provide sufficient Capstone Projects to students
Ensure documents received by students and Academic Directors are properly administered in a timely manner
Submit Capstone project grades according to schedule to ensure timely graduation
Successfully conduct events for industry partners and showcase of Capstone Projects by students
Qualifications Academic & Professional Certification
At least a good bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a reputable university
IT savvy and proficient in MS Office and Adobe applications
Knowledge of Power BI would be an added advantage
Experience & Attributes
Preferably 1–2 years of related working experience; candidates without experience are welcome to apply
Good verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills with a positive work attitude
Excellent coordination and organisation skills, with a customer‑centric mindset
Strong team player who is meticulous, resourceful, resilient and thrives in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented and ambiguous work environment
Experience in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules (in particular, Campus Community, Student Records, Student Financials, Campus Self‑Service, Academic Advisement) an added advantage
A copy of academic certificates and transcripts from GCE O‑level onwards should be uploaded via the online application portal.
