Assistant Professor of Psychology
School of Psychology, Sociology & Rural Studies, South Dakota State University This is a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor position with a start date of August 2026. The faculty member will be located in Brookings and supervised by the Director of the School. SDState is the state’s largest, most comprehensive university with over $94 million in annual research expenditures and approximately 12,000 students. Key Responsibilities
Teach in‑person and online undergraduate courses in Psychology (typical course load: three courses per semester; summer teaching optional). Mentor undergraduate students in research. Maintain an active research program. Provide service to the School, College, and University as well as to the profession. Salary
Starting at $72,000, commensurate with qualifications. Benefits

Completion of a Ph.D. in Psychology by start date. Evidence of ability or potential to teach psychology at the college/university level. Evidence of a promising research program. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Specialization in applied behavior analysis, clinical, health, or social psychology. Experience teaching at the college/university level with evidence of teaching effectiveness. Experience mentoring undergraduate research. Online teaching experience. Grant‑writing experience. Experience developing and teaching courses in area of expertise.
