Senior Director, Global Corporate Controller
Job Summary: Manage daily operations of the accounting department. Perform duties associated with preparation and analysis of financial statements, daily cash management, creating and maintaining efficient and effective processes, completion of internal and external auditing procedures, support annual budgeting process. This position will also supervise the accounting and accounts payable employee(s), which will include monitoring their processes as well as the continual improvement of efficiencies.
(This is a full time position based out of the MSO at Southpark, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm)
Primary Job Responsibilities
Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards
Manage operations of the accounting department: AR and revenue, AP, inventory, cash disbursements, expense reimbursement process, journal entries, fixed assets, prepaids and accruals, intercompany reconciliations
Review cash projections, monitor incoming/outgoing cash
Review payrolls prior to being finalized
Lead month‑end close, responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial reports
Review and provide explanations for monthly, quarterly, and annual variances in general ledger accounts
Review and approve entries queued by staff
Review/approve all bank reconciliations
Prepare or review/approve all general ledger reconciliations
Tax filings and compliance (sales tax, 1099, business personal property tax)
Annual tasks including supporting budgeting process across all entities, supporting annual financial audit, workers’ comp audit, and managing tax filing process for all lines of business
Maintain financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
Lead process improvement and automation initiatives for the department
Continuously seek opportunities to improve accounting data accuracy by analyzing current processes, developing reports and verifying information
Provide analysis of the organization’s income, expenditures, and capital asset values with comparisons to previous periods
Ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial data
Effectively communicate the financial data to the VP of Finance and other members of leadership
Assure that required debt payments are completed timely
Perform tasks associated with management of accounting staff
Complete new hire selection and timesheet administration in a timely efficient/complete manner
Assure employees receive proper training for tasks assigned
Assure employees work efficiently on assigned tasks and deadlines are met
Cross‑train employees at every opportunity
Assure that department processes are written down, kept up‑to‑date, and filed in a secure location
Regular and timely attendance is required
Requirements
Education and Certifications: Master’s degree in Accounting and/or CPA, preferred
Experience: 6 to 10 years, mix of accounting and managerial experience; supervisory experience is required; healthcare experience preferred
Skills/Knowledge: Good verbal, writing, and listening communication skills; organizational abilities; deep knowledge of accounting rules and processes; ability to manage multiple priorities and function as a team leader; attention to detail; excellent time management and prioritization abilities
Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, stoop, bend, push, and pull; lift and support weight of 35 pounds; use of computer for long periods of time
