Position Summary We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on
Director, Marketplace
to lead and grow our online marketplace business. The ideal candidate has
deep experience managing Amazon Seller Central accounts , with proven success driving sales growth, optimizing listings, and managing marketplace operations.
At the Director level, the role will expand beyond Amazon to include oversight of
Walmart.com, Target+, and other emerging marketplaces , building a unified omni‑channel strategy and managing relationships across multiple retail platforms.
Key Responsibilities Amazon Marketplace Management
Own the
P&L performance
of the Amazon channel (Seller Central or Vendor Central).
Manage product listings, content optimization (A+ content, images, copy, SEO), pricing, and promotions.
Monitor and improve
account health , customer reviews, and operational metrics.
Coordinate advertising strategy, including
Amazon Advertising (PPC, DSP, Sponsored Brands) .
Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and issues affecting performance.
Multi‑Marketplace Expansion (Director Scope)
Develop and execute growth strategies across Walmart Marketplace, Target+, eBay, and other digital channels.
Negotiate with marketplace partners and manage 3P/1P relationships.
Ensure consistency of brand messaging, pricing, and assortment across all channels.
Oversee content syndication and digital shelf optimization across marketplaces.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to align sales forecasts, inventory, and promotions.
Collaborate with supply chain and fulfillment teams to maintain healthy in‑stock rates and efficient order fulfillment.
Lead internal reporting and present channel performance to senior leadership.
Leadership (for Director level)
Manage and mentor a small team or agency partners focused on content, analytics, and ad strategy.
Establish KPIs, dashboards, and standard operating procedures for marketplace management.
Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership for marketplace innovation and growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA a plus).
7+ years (Director)
of experience managing e‑commerce marketplaces, with
hands‑on Amazon management
required.
Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and profitability through marketplace channels.
Expertise with
Amazon Seller Central ,
Amazon Advertising Console , and analytics tools (Helium10, Jungle Scout, or similar).
Strong analytical and financial acumen; comfortable managing P&L and ROI‑based decision‑making.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Experience with Shopify or DTC channels is a plus.
