Psychiatrist 1 / 2 (NY HELPS) – South Beach Psychiatric Center New York State Office of Mental Health

Pay Range Base pay: $256,651.00/yr – $269,202.00/yr.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions.

Create treatment plans including medication management.

Obtain and review laboratory tests and consult with treatment team members as needed.

Provide individual and group psychotherapy.

Supervise psychiatric residents and fellows.

Minimum Qualifications

Psychiatrist 1: Current license in New York State and completion of an ABPN‑approved psychiatry training program.

Psychiatrist 2: Current license in New York State and ABPN certification in psychiatry.

HELPS eligibility: License and ABPN certification (public or private sector) for candidates inside or outside state service.

Competitive class appointment: One year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service in a title eligible under § 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Supplemental income: up to 50% of salary by providing evening, night, and weekend coverage.
