Pet Food Express
We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst who thrives at the intersection of business process, data, and technology. This role bridges the gap between business partners and technical teams—helping define, document, and optimize processes across our omni-channel retail landscape, which includes retail, eCommerce, merchandising, supply chain, and finance systems.
You’ll partner with business stakeholders to capture requirements, analyze data flows, validate integrations, and recommend best practices grounded in retail expertise. This is a hands-on role where curiosity, systems thinking, and SQL proficiency come together to drive impactful business solutions.
Please note: This position is a hybrid role, involving on-site work each week at our corporate headquarters in Concord, CA. Candidates who are fully remote or outside of reasonable commuting distance will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Lead requirements gathering sessions directly with business partners across all business domains
Analyze and document current and future-state business processes, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement
Translate business needs into clear and actionable business requirement documents (BRDs), process maps, and functional specifications
Use SQL to research data issues, validate business rules, and perform root‑cause analysis across ERP, OMS, POS, and eCommerce platforms
Validate APIs and integrations using tools like Postman or Swagger to support data and process troubleshooting
Track requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria using Azure DevOps
Serve as a process SME, recommending retail best practices that align systems and operations
Collaborate cross‑functionally with developers, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure high‑quality delivery
Act as a key liaison between business and IT, ensuring shared understanding and traceability throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
7–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or hybrid Business Systems Analyst
Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of omni‑channel retail business processes—especially eCommerce, merchandising, and inventory flows
Experience with Marketing tools such as Microsoft Customer Insights
Experience working with ERP, OMS, POS, and eCommerce systems
Strong SQL and data analytic skills for business analysis, data validation, and troubleshooting
Experience documenting business processes and requirements using Visio, Lucidchart, and/or Confluence
Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps, or other similar tools for tracking user stories, requirements, and tasks
Strong analytical and curious mindset with excellent communication skills—able to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical partners
Proven ability to work independently, lead requirements discussions, and drive solutions to completion
Experience in retail or eCommerce industries is strongly preferred
