Assistant Site Engineer

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure projects for Severn Trent Water. They are looking to recruit an Assistant Site Engineer based on a large project near Melton Mowbray where you will be providing setting out and quality control services to ensure that the contract works are constructed to the specification. Key responsibilities: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with CDM Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices. Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, preparation of Method Statements, Action Plans and Risk Assessments. Setting out the works. Checking site work to ensure compliance with the specification and drawings. Agreement of site measurements and records with the client’s staff. Assist in maintaining drawing files, drawing register and site filling system. Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is always used. Taking off quantities from drawings for measurement purposes and to assist in the preparation of requisitions. Assist in the preparation of the construction completion documentation. Ensure that the works are constructed to a good quality in line with the specification. Ensure that the required quality records are maintained. Produce data as required to facilitate accurate reporting for inclusion in Management Reports as requested by the site/project manager, including monthly SMQSE reports, Improve It reports, NCR reports, accident reports and waste returns.
