£40,000 – £55,000 Plus Package and Excellent Benefits The Role: Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure projects for Severn Trent Water. They are recruiting additional staff for their operations team and have vacancies for Site Engineers, General Foreman and Site Managers for this framework with Severn Trent Water. Based on multiple sites throughout the Severn Trent Region, you will work within the self-delivery team to ensure the safe management of all operational activities on all projects, ensuring HSQE, programme and budget requirements are met. You will report directly to the Site Manager / Project Manager.
Responsibilities
Site Engineer Responsibilities:
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with CDM Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices.
Lead the preparation of construction programmes, preparation of Method Statements, Action Plans and Risk Assessments.
Setting out the works.
Checking site work to ensure compliance with the specification and drawings.
Agreement of site measurements and records with the client’s staff.
Assist in maintaining drawing files, drawing register and site filing system.
Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is always used.
Taking off quantities from drawings for measurement purposes and to assist in the preparation of requisitions.
Assist in the preparation of the construction completion documentation.
Ensure that the works are constructed to a good quality in line with the specification and good working practice.
Ensure that the required quality records are maintained.
In conjunction with other site staff ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with current legislation, the company health & safety policy, procedures and safe working practices.
Produce data as required to facilitate accurate reporting for inclusion in Management Reports as requested by the site/project manager. This includes (but is not limited to) monthly SMQSE reports, Improve It reports, NCR reports, accident reports and waste returns.
Site Manager Responsibilities:
Ensure the coordination of and communication between all parts of the operation team including suppliers, subcontractors, engineering, safety and environmental team and client’s team.
Build and develop the team to deliver all aspects of the project requirements; identify training requirements, review the performance of the workforce and ensure delivery of briefings.
Provide, monitor and control labour plant and materials to meet the programme.
Manage sub-contractors and direct workforce.
Ensure high standard of quality on the works to meet the specification requirements ‘first time’ and minimise rework.
Assist engineering team with working method and outputs for production of method statements and programme.
Ensure all records for example inspections, works permits and briefings are up to date and in place.
Carry out regular safety and environmental inspections and implement recommended courses of action as identified from progress monitoring and management inspections.
Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractor’s attendance, and records of work related discussions with client / designer / project team.
Experience
Recognized Civil Engineering / Site Management Qualifications
Previous experience as either an assistant site manager, Site Engineer or a delivery graduate
IOSH or Construction Managers Safety Certificate
CSCS Site Manager
First Aid at Work
BTEC National or HNC in Civil Engineering/Construction (minimum)
Levelling & Surveying experience (using total stations & automatic level)
SSSTS
CSCS Supervision card
EUSR SHEA Water
