The safe and reliable performance of Dominion Energy’s nuclear fleet depends on our team of engineering professionals. The Innsbrook Nuclear Fleet Design Engineering & Programs team seeks an Engineer or Senior Engineer to join the Corporate Engineering Mechanics group. The group provides engineering support to Dominion Energy’s fleet of four nuclear power stations with a focus on evaluating the integrity of essential components such as piping, vessels, and valves. When a component requires repair or replacement, the group develops solutions that can be implemented at the site. The group also supports projects tied to license renewals and may provide supplemental resources during a site outage. The Engineer will perform pipe stress analysis, pipe and component support structural analysis, flaw evaluations in piping and vessels using fracture mechanics, and equipment seismic qualification support for the Dominion fleet. The individual will work within a team of subject matter experts in areas including: pipe stress analysis (ANSI B31.1, ASME Section III), structural analysis of piping and component supports (AISC/ASD), pressure vessels (ASME Section III and VIII), flaw evaluation using fracture mechanics, equipment seismic qualification (IPEEE / SQUG), and seismic fragility analysis for Probabilistic Risk Assessments. The Engineer will demonstrate advanced engineering analysis balanced with sound judgment on potential solutions. High energy and personal initiative are essential to manage the variety of requests. Building effective partnerships with site-based engineering teams will be vital, and the Engineer may work at the sites occasionally to assist station staff. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The position will be filled at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, commensurate with education, experience, knowledge, and attributes. The required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include the following: Engineer: 2+ years of relevant engineering experience; Senior Engineer: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience; Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles; Skilled in advanced techniques and modification of theories in the field and related sciences; Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead; Strong oral and written communication skills (including technical writing); Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities; Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices; Knowledge of computer applications and engineering calculations using software (e.g., Matlab, Excel); Ability to work independently or in a team; Proven ability to process information quickly and manage multiple tasks; Strong planning, organizational and project management skills. The preferred candidates will also have: Prior experience in the nuclear power industry; Prior experience in an industrial work setting; Knowledge of the ASME Nuclear Piping & Pressure Vessel Code (Section III) and Flaw Evaluation portions of Rules for Inservice Inspection (Section XI), and predecessor codes (ANSI/ASME B31.1 and B31.7); Professional Engineer (PE) designation; Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards qualifications. REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA: For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met: Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, or Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from outside the U.S. accredited through the country’s engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord, or Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET) with a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree is ABET-accredited, or Hold or have previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Education Requirements

Required Degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree): Bachelor’s in Engineering Preferred candidates will have an engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil, Metallurgical, or Aerospace engineering. Licenses, Certifications, or Qualifications Description

Note: Dominion Energy minimum experience and education requirements may exceed ANSI standards; candidates must meet the company minimum requirements. For Nuclear employees, ANSI standard must be met; the Engineer role includes 2 years related experience and Nuclear power plant experience of 1 year. ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.6.1 Education requirements: Baccalaureate or associate degree in engineering or related science. Minimum experience: 2 years; Nuclear power plant experience: 1 year.
