Project Overview Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company are delivering the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland. Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contractor, responsible for design and construction of the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant.

Job Summary Essential duties include performing pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code and European codes. The role involves modeling piping systems, coordinating with layout personnel and pipe support engineers, and working with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.

Major Responsibilities

Perform pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code and European codes.

Model piping systems to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.

Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.

Evaluate, select, and apply standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment.

Plan plant and piping layouts; prepare detailed plant and piping designs and drawings for structures.

Analyze pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance.

Prepare plant and piping designs and construction drawings using 2‑D/3‑D CAD and presentation graphics.

Optimize facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements.

Participate in design reviews and recommend approval of drawings and data for compliance.

Utilize BSAPs, SCPs, and other software, questioning outputs when results are unreasonable.

Education and Experience Requirements

Level I: BS degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.

Level II: BS degree with a minimum of 9 years of related experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1 and other relevant industry piping codes and standards.

Experience using pipe stress analysis programs.

Additional Qualifications

PE Registration.

Prior experience using AutoPipe for pipe stress analysis.

Previous Bechtel project experience.

Previous nuclear project experience.

Experience with European codes and standards.
