HR Generalist

The

HR Generalist

will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR compliance for the Club. This position ensures that employee records, payroll deductions, and benefit enrollments are accurate, timely, and compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Specialist will serve as the department's compliance lead, performing regular audits, managing leave programs, and ensuring proper documentation for H-2B, I-9, and other regulatory requirements.

many more! Job Tasks / Primary Duties

Process biweekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Maintain employee records in the HRIS/payroll system. Prepare payroll reports for finance and audit purposes. Administer off-cycle checks and adjustments as needed. Assist with open enrollment; employees with benefit questions and issue resolution. Process monthly benefit invoices and reconcile against payroll deductions. Manage wellness discount program. Serve as liaison with benefits providers and brokers as needed Maintain compliance with all federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ACA, COBRA, and DOL wage & hour standards. Conduct regular I-9 and personnel file audits to ensure accuracy and legal compliance. Oversee H-2B compliance documentation and reporting in collaboration with HR Director and outside agencies. Support annual and 90-day performance review compliance tracking. Prepare and file required reports (EEO, ACA, 401k census, etc.) as needed. Administer FMLA, personal leave, and other time-off programs. Oversee the workers' compensation claim process once initial report is received from HR Admin. Serve as back-up to the HR Admin/Onboarding Coordinator for payroll or HRIS support when needed. Participate in HR department initiatives, audits, and seasonal employee support as assigned. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Dependable and discreet with confidential information. Comfortable balancing daily transactional work with compliance oversight. Qualifications:

Education/Experience: 5+ years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, and HR compliance (hospitality or country club experience strongly preferred). Strong understanding of FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, and other HR regulatory requirements. Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems (Paylocity, or similar). Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and reconciliation skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. H-2B visa experience a plus. SHRM-CP or HRCI certification preferred.
