Senior Human Resources Generalist

The successful

Senior Human Resources Generalist

candidate will have both strategic and administrative responsibilities, handling all with kindness, tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment. Responsibilities: Benefits Administration

Administer and communicate benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability

Serve as primary contact for benefits-related questions, ensuring employees receive accurate and timely assistance and information

Coordinate open enrollment activities, benefits orientations, and employee education sessions

Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations in accordance with company policy and carrier requirements

Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and ensure accuracy in payroll deductions

Liaise with insurance providers and brokers to resolve employee and administrative benefit issues

Maintain compliance with COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, and other applicable federal and state regulations

Maintain accurate and confidential employee and benefits records in HRIS and carrier systems

Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and related reporting

Partner with brokers and vendors to resolve benefit discrepancies and support renewals

Evaluate and recommend cost-effective benefits solutions that align with company objectives and employee needs

401(k) and Retirement Plan Oversight and Support

Oversee administration of the company’s 401(k) plan program, ensuring compliance with ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations

Coordinate with the plan administrator, payroll, and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate contribution processing

Support the annual nondiscrimination testing and plan audit process

Prepare and maintain required documentation for plan reporting and compliance filings (i.e. Form 5500)

Provide employees with accurate and clear information about eligibility, enrollment, and plan features

Assist with the preparation and distribution of annual notices and plan-related communications

Maintain accurate participant data and documentation in accordance with plan and regulatory requirements

Monitor employee eligibility and coordinate with new hires during onboarding to ensure timely 401(k) enrollment opportunities

Recordkeeping, Audits, Compliance and HR Data Integrity

Prepare for and participate in internal and external HR audits

Conduct periodic reviews of HR data, employee files and benefits documentation for accuracy

Assist in the preparation of reports and collection of supporting documentation for auditors, management, and regulatory bodies

Onboarding

Coordinate and manage the full onboarding process to ensure a seamless and positive new hire experience

Prepare and execute the digital onboarding process and capture new hire documentation, including offer letters, I-9 verification, and HRIS setup

Ensure all background checks, verifications, employment eligibility, and taxes are conducted and set up in compliance with federal and state regulations

Conduct new hire orientations, providing information on company history, values, policies and benefits

Execute the 30/60/90 day new hire onboarding program

Maintain onboarding materials, inventory, checklists, and tracking tools to ensure consistent processes

Collaborate with IT, Payroll, Safety, and other teams to ensure readiness for new employee arrivals

Perform other duties as requested, including but not limited to:

Processing employment verification requests

Administering random drug screens

Assisting with Worker’s Compensation claims

Other duties as requested

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

7+ years of HR experience with increasing responsibility

Thorough understanding of benefits, retirement plan administration, and HR auditing processes

Experience with HRIS systems, payroll integration, and data verification• Meticulous and well-organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to consistently perform with a high sense of urgency

Excellent discernment and customer service skills

High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality

Professional certification (SHRM) preferred

Proven ability to establish trust and demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Ability to remain nimble and adjust to unanticipated changes, often on short notice, and remain calm under pressure

Details

Full time, in-office, salary position (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm), $80,000-$90,000/year
