As a I&C Commissioning Technician working with the LotusWorks team, you will join our client site in the Semiconductor sector. This job is based in a cutting-edge facility in Chandler, AZ. The I&C Commissioning Technician will participate as a member of the project team working with the client I&C System Owners to ensure accurate and complete project deliverables are provided by the contracted workforce. Responsibilities:
Perform full commissioning of I&C systems, including instrument calibration, loop checks, functionality verification, and control system validation. Take PLCs and control systems in and out of service, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed and systems operate per design intent. Create and maintain detailed documentation of all commissioning activities, including test results, punch lists, redlines, and final turnover packages. Conduct and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Operational Acceptance Tests (OATs), ensuring equipment and systems meet required performance specifications. Provide technical QA/QC for installed PLC panels, field devices, and instrumentation to verify compliance with design documentation. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to I&C systems during commissioning, often coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including construction, controls, and design engineers. Perform field inspections and technical verification of hardware and instrument installations based on P&IDs, loop drawings, and Sequence of Operations (SOOs). Ensure safe commissioning practices, including adherence to energy isolation procedures (LOTO) and compliance with electrical safety standards such as NFPA 70E. Support the management of change and update commissioning records to reflect as-built conditions and deviations. Assist in turnover processes by preparing final documentation packages for client acceptance. Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. Skills Required: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on commissioning experience in Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) systems -preferably in the semiconductor or related high-tech sectors. Proven ability to commission PLCs, including taking systems in and out of service, troubleshooting, and validating performance. Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, including I/O setup and Ethernet communication networks. Experience with field instrumentation commissioning, including loop checks, function testing, and system validation. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control schematics, and Sequence of Operations (SOOs) to support accurate commissioning activities. Skilled in the installation, calibration, and verification of a wide range of instrumentation-Flow, Pressure, Temperature, Humidity, Control Valves, AFDs, etc. Familiar with FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and OAT (Operational Acceptance Testing) processes, with the ability to conduct and document these on behalf of the client. Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software in control systems and instrumentation. Understanding of construction and system installation sequencing from a commissioning and startup perspective. Education / Licenses / Certifications OSHA10 Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
