LHH partnered with a local nonprofit organization to recruit for a Compliance Manager in San Francisco, CA.

This position manages the Compliance team and ensures all housing operations meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

Compliance Manager San Francisco, CA | Full-Time Compensation:

$92,800-$100,000 annually

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join our team in San Francisco. In this role, you will oversee compliance for supportive housing projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines and maintaining resident eligibility across multiple sites. You will design and implement compliance policies, train staff, and act as the primary liaison for audits and regulatory inquiries.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and skilled at managing compliance processes in a highly regulated housing environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide oversight to Housing Operations for tasks related to regulatory compliance.

Act as point-of-contact and liaison for compliance partners (e.g., RightSource/Yardi).

Stay current on local, state, and federal housing compliance guidelines and disseminate updates.

Maintain comprehensive project descriptions, demographic restrictions, and unit designations.

Ensure subsidy/lender/investor contract terms are accurately reflected in property management systems.

Train staff to ensure consistent compliance practices across the portfolio.

Collaborate with site managers and supervisors to develop audit-ready file review practices.

Prepare compliance reports for leadership and submit required reports to agencies (HUD, TCAC, State Finance Agencies, etc.).

Investigate non-compliance issues and assist in corrective actions.

Support lease-up functions for new and existing properties.

Qualifications: Strong knowledge of housing compliance regulations and reporting requirements.

Experience with property management software (Yardi preferred).

Ability to lead without direct authority and foster collaboration across teams.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Prior experience in affordable housing compliance strongly preferred.
