About Us: Development of Central Florida, Inc. is a growing underground utility and civil construction contractor specializing in water, sewer, storm, and duct bank infrastructure projects across both public and private sectors. We pride ourselves on delivering quality work, maintaining strong client relationships, and fostering a team-focused environment.

Position Overview: The Safety & Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing field safety practices, ensuring adherence to OSHA and local regulations, conducting site audits, training field staff, and supporting overall risk management. This is a critical role for promoting a safety-first culture across all projects.

Responsibilities:

· Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDOT, EPA, and company safety policies

· Lead incident investigations and track corrective actions

· Manage and maintain safety documentation, training records, and SDS

· Observe or deliver field safety meetings and toolbox talks

· Support environmental compliance (SWPPP, MOT, etc.)

· Work closely with Superintendents and Foremen to promote best practices

Assist in the development and enforcement of safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:

· 1-2 years of experience in construction safety (heavy civil )

· Knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards and Florida construction regulations

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and travel to job sites as needed

· OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other safety certifications

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
