Description of Work Salary Range: $45,926 - $80,369 Annually
This is an Internal Posting open ONLY for current North Carolina State Government employees and eligible RIF Candidates from NC State Government. To include eligible current Temporary Employees.
The primary purpose of the Controller's Office is to ensure that all department financial resources and fund received, disbursed, recorded, and accounted for in accordance with the applicable State and Federal laws and regulations. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Department policy and procedures. The Controller's Office at the agency level has oversight responsibility of the North Carolina Financial System regarding transactions which affect financial responsibility of this department and is accountable to the Office of State Controller for the integrity of the data.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
This Administrative Officer II provides administrative support for the Controller's Office and Budget section with the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. The Administrative Officer II will supervise five employees.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting Controller in all phases of operational duties of the fiscal section in a highly professional and effective manner. Establishing and managing the office administrative and operational workflow to assist the efficiency and productivity of the Controller's Office. Assisting in coordinating and monitoring assigned tasks, projects, and ongoing activities to ensure assignments are completed and reports are filed in accordance with prescribed schedules. Performing Human Resources Fiori duties for the Controller and Budget sections, including leave of absence's, family medical leave, new hire packages, and separations. Supervising the ordering of supplies for the Controller's Office, as well as all the scanning of the Accounts Payable documents. Supervised front desk receptionist and mailroom staff for the Bush Street complex. Assist with special projects as needed. This position interacts with division personnel at all levels daily. Much of the work performed by this position is confidential in nature. This position may provide administrative support to the Assistant Controllers, Accounting Managers, and Budget Director as directed by the Controller.
Management Preferences:
Thorough Knowledge of the principles of public/business administration, personnel policies, and practices Experience of Microsoft Suite products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint etc., FIORI/SAP, Workday, Intranet, and the Internet Experience with HR functional area like Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management and Benefits Business Object Reporting (BOBJ) and North Carolina Financial System (NCFS) Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedure Ability to plan, assign, and review other's work
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits.
