Description of Work Salary Range: $53,164.00 - $93,038.00

The Enterprise Accounting department manages the financial operations, ensuring compliance with State and Federal laws and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). It oversees the receipt, disbursement, and recording of funds, maintaining accountability through the Controller's Office, which ensures the integrity of financial data in the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS). All financial transactions for these funds are recorded as prescribed by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accepted Accounting Principles (GASB), Office of State Controller (OSC) and Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) guidelines and the N.C. General Statutes.

This position performs a variety of complex manufacturing accounting, cash management, and financial reporting functions.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparation of monthly income statements and annual financial statements. Spends considerable time with plant managers (26 locations), Enterprise Administration, and vendors. Manages the billing and collections of the department's accounts receivables in accordance with the State's Accounts Receivable Policies and General Statute 147-86. Reviews the monthly cash reports and trial balance for accuracy and prepares accrual entries every month. This position also helps in monthly close-out process. Manages ACFR entries and the Agency financial notes as required in compilation for the agency. Write procedures and assisting in establishing internal controls within the section. Other duties as assigned by the manager. Management Preferences:

Experience and skill in preparation of Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR) Experience working in Accounts Receivable collections

This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm/40 hours per week) withState Benefits.

Minimal Experience and Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a degree in business administration, finance or public administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution with 18 semester hours of accounting coursework; and four years of professional accounting/auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive or analytical accounting/ financial statements and reports (OR) an equivalent combination of education and experience.
