Addiction Recovery Counseling Internship

within our

The goal of the My Sister's House program at BHN

is to serve women ages 18 and up, including pregnant and post-partum women and their infants, who are working to recover from addiction and improve their lives. BHN employees at the 24-hour long-term program serve the women by providing a range of services including counseling, educational services, living skills training, parenting groups, and more. What You'll Do as an Intern

As an

Addiction Recovery Counseling Intern , you'll develop clinical skills in addiction treatment by: Learning the intake process, including screening, assessment, and orientation Providing case management and referrals for a small supervised caseload Assisting with treatment planning and delivering psychoeducation to clients Shadowing and co-facilitating psychoeducational groups and individual counseling sessions Observing and supporting crisis intervention services Documenting services and clinical progress in line with program standards Collaborating with staff and external providers to coordinate care Building understanding of substance use, mental health, and recovery practices Who You Are Enrolled in a Bachelor's, Associate's, or certificate program in a related field (required) Working toward CADC or LADC II certification (preferred) Knowledge of substance use treatment and co-occurring populations (preferred) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Interested in addiction services, women's health, and family-centered recovery Internship Details Flexible hours based on college program requirements Unpaid placement for academic credit only We Hire for Purpose!
