LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to join our client in South San Francisco, CA. This full-time direct hire opportunity offers a hybrid work environment.
The Senior Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing the semi-monthly payroll processing, mentoring payroll team members, ensure accuracy and compliance, assist with tax reporting, audits and system management, and identify improvements to payroll systems. This role requires at least 5 years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Lead semi-monthly payroll process to ensure accuracy and provide final approval on payroll submissions and deliverable
• Conduct internal audits of payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all payroll functions
• Assist with tax reporting, auditing and system management
• Collaborate with finance, HR, and leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations
• Supervise and mentor payroll team members
• Identify improvements to payroll systems and assist in implementing improvements
• Provide backup for payroll processing as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Certified Payroll Professional preferred
• 5+ years of payroll experience in high volume environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, timekeeping and payroll systems
• Exceptional communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of California and multi-state payroll regulations
• System implementation experience highly preferred
