Program Specialist Requisition ID req31707 Working Title Program Specialist Position Grade 12 Position Summary The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities Programs Division at the CDD is seeking an organized and detail oriented individual to oversee and administer all facets of the day-to-day operations of outreach efforts of a new, exciting program, NM START. NM START is a crisis prevention/intervention program for individuals with ASD/IDD and mental health challenges. We serve individuals in Albuquerque and within a 2 hour radius. This part of our program will develop education materials, identify community providers, and acquire linkages necessary for outreach. The successful candidate will have understanding of rural communities including native communities. This individual will work with a team of professionals to provide assistance in the development of outreach and will provide day to day oversight of assisting teams to be creative and culturally thoughtful in sharing information specific to ASD/IDD and mental health. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated through the interview process, will have the ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals and will be required to exhibit professionalism and positivity in a changing environment. Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement. If located at the UNM Children's Campus, successful candidate must pass a comprehensive post-offer, pre-employment criminal and New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) fingerprint background check, and a continued successful status will be verified by periodic future background checks. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
