Selectek is partnering with a firm based in Kennesaw, GA to hire a Geotechnical Engineer  on a direct-hire basis. Duties will include utility coordination, boring layout, seismic refraction and shear wave velocity data collection, resistivity survey data collection, subcontractor coordination, soil classification, drafting boring logs and figures, technical engineering analysis and report writing Employment Type: Direct Hire Location: Kennesaw, GA Expected Pay Range: $100,000 - $150,000 annual base before permanent conversion depending on experience and certification. Requirements:

Geotechnical Engineering experience Bachelor's Degree Minimum 3-7 years' experience PE License is (or ability to obtain one in a year) is preferred - may waive this requirement depending on experience Construction Materials experience Experience in industry standard geotechnical software (LPILE, SLIDE, gINT, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.

In addition to these requirements, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as Selectek is unable to provide sponsorship or work visa documentation. Job Order Details: Observation:  Professionals must be able to observe and manage employees that observe work for compliance with applicable project drawings and specifications, and for general accordance with Code requirements.  Testing:  Professionals must have a thorough understanding of and manage employees that perform field and laboratory testing in accordance with applicable standards including, but not limited to: ASTM D-422, D-689, D-1556, D-1557, D-2172, D-2216, D-2487, D-2937, D-4318, D-6938, C-31, C-39, C-42, C-78, C-109, C-140, C-143, C-173, C-231, C-1019, C-1314, E-605, E-736, E-1155, F-1869, F-2170, and ASTM STP 39.  Documentation:  Professionals must thoroughly document field observations, test results, and recommendations by writing in English with proper grammar.  Professionals will also review employees’ field reports for content and accuracy.  Project Management:  Professionals will perform project management duties in general accordance with the  way of project management.  Project management duties include, but are not limited to: Set-up project and complete project set-up sheet, obtain drawings and specs, work as a team with other project managers and upper management to schedule technicians, field staff and specialty services, proactively communicate to the client and construction team, write technical reports pertaining to the projects (footing letters, remedial recommendations, etc.), visit project sites, confirm that reports are transmitted in a timely manner, invoice the project, review Budget Summary Reports, perform collection duties as required, attend project meetings, attend staff meetings, and enhancing Company Imagine with professionalism.  Business Development:  Professionals will attend functions determined to be appropriate by their supervisor, and prepare proposals.  Certification:  Professionals will obtain and maintain relevant ACI, ICC, and OSHA certifications, as well as other certifications as deemed appropriate by their supervisor. To be considered for this position, apply via the link, or if email is more convenient, send an up-to-date resume to  jfairbanks@selectek.net and reference this job posting.
