Senior HR Generalist - HR Operations & Employee Experience Leader

Responsibilities Build a scalable shared services foundation of HR policies, processes, and systems that scale. Lead employee relations, compliance, and workforce support with fairness, rigor, and compassion. Act as a first point of contact and trusted advisor for employees and managers, solving problems with speed and clarity. Drive forward the professionalization of HR operations raise the standard of service, data quality, and accountability. Partner with HRIS and People Analytics to ensure smooth system operations and leverage data for insights. Provide hands-on guidance and coaching to managers on policies, employee relations, and performance management. Build managers confidence and consistency in handling employee issues, helping them grow as people leaders. Identify inefficiencies in HR workflows and proactively design improvements; embrace digital tools and automation to simplify work, reduce errors, and enhance service delivery.

What You Will Build & Lead

Shared Services Infrastructure scalable, efficient processes across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, benefits, leaves of absence, performance reviews, offboarding, etc.). Employee Relations & Experience serve as the first line of response, provide guidance, mediation, and resolution rooted in fairness and values; lead investigations and compliance matters. Operational Excellence & Data Integrity improve HR data quality, reporting, and system reliability; collaborate with HRIS/People Analytics for insights. Manager Support & Capability Building coach managers on policies, employee relations, and performance management. Process Improvement & Automation design scalable, automated HR workflows.

Employee Trust & Experience HR processes are trusted, respectful, and supportive; onboarding and issue resolution metrics improve. Manager Confidence & Capability managers rely on you as a trusted advisor and demonstrate improved handling of employee relations and performance management. Operational Excellence HR processes are documented, streamlined, and automated where possible; faster turnaround and reduced errors. Compliance & Data Integrity adherence to FMLA, FERPA, Title IX, ADA, and other regulations; data accuracy and actionable insights. Problem-Solving & Innovation demonstrated improvements in efficiency, employee satisfaction, or compliance linked to your initiatives.

Experience & Qualifications

58 years of progressive HR experience with a strong background in employee relations, HR operations, and compliance. Experience supporting medium-to-large organizations with complex HR environments. Hands-on experience managing investigations, grievances, terminations, performance cases, and workplace conflicts; ability to resolve sensitive issues with fairness and confidentiality. Working knowledge of FMLA, FERPA, ADA, Title IX, EEO, wage & hour, and other regulations; proven ability to ensure compliance while maintaining a positive employee experience. Experience creating, improving, and automating HR workflows; proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday and/or ADP strongly preferred). Ability to coach, advise, and build capability in managers at multiple levels; align with The Rivers values: service excellence, inclusion, innovation, accountability, and community.

Education

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required. HR certifications (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred.
