Scope:
The Over the Road Operations rep will focus on working with De Well’s current trucking needs to help source the right truckload, LTL, and cartage carriers to ensure quality on time delivery to our clients. The operator will need to grow relationships with carriers and customers while tracking shipments and working on any issues that may come up before, during, and after transit. Responsibilities: · Responsible for carrier and/or logistics provider relationship development, including negotiation of rates, analysis of costs for projects, and presenting best cost opportunities. · Monitor on time delivery percentages and meet or exceed customer expectations · Usage of TMS systems to track, source, update carriers and customer data · Coordinate pickups and deliveries of shipments throughout the North American market · Work alongside our network on internal trainings and external customer meetings · Ability to grasp industry trends, changes to markets, and communicate them effectively to customers and internal team(s). · Optimize processes to work with our internal groups for proposal process to our clients · Openly communicate current process and ensure information flow amongst relevant team members · Troubleshoot, resolve, and provide solutions to any logistics related issues. Qualifications · STRONG communication (Verbal and written) skills in English required. · Customer service experience is preferred · 0-1 years in the logistics/freight industry · Self-motivated and competitive with strong organizational and interpersonal skills · Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint · TMS/logistics technology experience preferred. · Previous experience working with domestic freight. · Passion for the B2B and B2C e-commerce space. · Analytical mindset. Preferred · Experience with rail and ocean drayage · Experience with air freight Seniority level
