Summary of Position The Trading Specialist serves in a critical capacity for the daily functioning of our practice. Attention to detail is of the utmost importance and anticipating problems must be second nature. You will be deploying client dollars into selected investment portfolios. A familiarity with investment markets, investment products, general trading protocols and considerations is an essential skill set. We are looking for a highly experienced trader who can step in and be productive in short order. A familiarity with the Fidelity custodial platform, Tamarac trading software and experience with Envestnet, though not essential, will be important considerations for the candidate we select for this role. You will report to the Director of Investments.
What You'll Do The Trading Specialist will be responsible for processing requests from investment advisors through an automated tasking system to take action on behalf of clients in their investment accounts.
Rebalancing portfolios, raising and deploying cash, attending to trade settlement issues, and general portfolio implementation will be your daily routine.
The ability to communicate and clarify client needs and expectations with investment advisors
The successful candidate must be proactive and communicative in prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced and highly energetic environment.
Will successfully navigate many software applications and custodial environments, with a continual eye toward implementing efficient processes. This will become important as our practice continues to grow and expand both the sophistication and volume of our product offerings.
Assist the Director of Investments with projects
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Finance, Economics or related degree
One of the following is required: Series 65 license; or Series 7 and Series 66 licenses; or one of the following designations: CFA, CFP, ChFC, CIMA, CIC or PFS
3+ years of investment trading experience required
Experience with Fidelity, Schwab, Tamarac, and Envestnet trading platforms or similar environments required
“Solutions-Focused” mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and file sharing services
Strong communication and collaboration skills
