As a Business Development Representative, you'll be on the front lines of growth. Your mission is simple: make sure that when disaster strikes, Merit is the first call. You'll build relationships with plumbers, property managers, HOAs, landlords, adjusters, and other referral sources. You'll distribute marketing materials, attend events, follow up relentlessly, and close jobs.
This is a commission-only role with no cap on earnings. You'll be backed by strong estimating and production teams, but your pipeline, performance, and paycheck are in your hands.
Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Outreach
Knock on doors, make cold calls, and pursue new relationships daily.
Target plumbers, property managers, HOAs, landlords, and realtors.
Distribute marketing materials and introduce Merit services in your territory.
Build awareness for Merit in your region through persistence and presence.
Partner Relationships & Follow-Up
Build and maintain long-term relationships with referral partners.
Educate partners on how and when to call Merit for emergency restoration needs.
Respond to inquiries quickly and professionally.
Become a trusted, go-to contact in your market.
CRM & Sales Pipeline Tracking
Track all outreach and activity in the company CRM (HubSpot).
Maintain accurate records of leads and follow-ups.
Analyze conversion data and adjust approach to improve results.
Provide weekly pipeline updates to leadership.
Events & Brand Representation
Attend networking events, association meetings, and vendor expos.
Represent Merit with professionalism and confidence.
Support marketing campaigns and local brand awareness.
Stay current on restoration industry trends and claim processes.
Qualifications & Traits
Prior sales experience in restoration, construction, real estate, or B2B preferred.
Proven ability to generate and close new business.
Strong communicator—clear, persuasive, and professional.
Organized and disciplined with CRM and follow-through.
Independent and competitive—you thrive on results.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Pay Structure
Commission-Only Role: 100% commission-based—your income is tied directly to performance and closed jobs.
Monthly Advance: $2,500 monthly draw provided while you build your pipeline (recouped from future commissions).
Performance-Driven Income: The harder you go, the more you earn—no ceiling.
Bonus Opportunities: Performance-based bonuses may be available for exceeding targets.
