We’re seeking a mission-aligned
Treasurer
to join our passionate and growing Board of Directors. This role is ideal for a finance-savvy individual who is excited to help build an arts organization from the ground up. As Treasurer, you'll be responsible for guiding our financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting the organization’s fiscal health. This is a
remote
position; however, applicants
must reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia (DMV), Pennsylvania (PA), or New York (NY)
to be eligible. Key Responsibilities Serve as the principal financial officer of the board, advising on budgeting, financial planning, and reporting Oversee financial policies and procedures to ensure transparency and compliance Review and present quarterly financial statements to the board Help prepare and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with the Executive Director Ensure timely filing of IRS Form 990 and assist with financial elements of 501(c)(3) compliance Support fundraising efforts by offering financial insights and stewardship strategy Participate in monthly board meetings and occasional committee work Ideal Qualifications Background in accounting, finance, or nonprofit management Nonprofit accounting experience is strongly preferred Prior experience serving as a board treasurer or financial officer (preferred but not required) Understanding of nonprofit financial regulations and basic GAAP principles Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to commit up to 5 hours per week, not to exceed 20 hours per month Must reside in
