Procurement Specialist (Only US Citizens) 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Manage procurement activities in the Supply Chain Department in Madison, Mississippi. Responsibilities include source selection, creating RFQs, requesting supplier certifications, creating purchase orders under $30K (subject to manager discretion), negotiations with pre-approval, monitoring supplier acknowledgements and delivery status, and assisting senior buyers with the creation of 9 tab folders. Also responsible for tracking past-due purchase orders, updating SAP, noting status for data accuracy, resolving supplier invoice issues, and participating in supplier visits and helping develop program review agendas.

Source, negotiate and purchase machinery, equipment, tools, packaging materials, parts, services and supplies necessary for aerospace operations.

Compile and analyze data to determine feasibility of buying products and establish price objectives.

Monitor supplier performance.

Evaluate opportunities to leverage material acquisitions.

Track data to stay informed on price trends and market dynamics.

Negotiate with suppliers and analyze supplier operations to determine factors affecting prices and to achieve lowest cost while meeting quality and schedule requirements.

Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends and maintain records.

May prepare RFPs, RFQs and bid packages.

Maintain high ethical personal and professional standards.

Other projects and initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.

Some travel will be required.

Adherence to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to present financial information clearly and succinctly.

Excellent communication skills to interface effectively with suppliers.

Must pass a background investigation to obtain a public trust position (if required).

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (if required).

Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.

Education

Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of directly related government, industrial or aerospace purchasing or subcontracting experience, OR Associate Degree with at least four (4) years of related experience, OR high school diploma/equivalent with at least eight (8) years of related experience.
