Band 7 (£50,861 - £59,159) per annum (pro rata)
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,406 (pro rata)
24.7 hours per week
Permanent post
We are looking for a highly-motivated and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner that has completed a Post graduate diploma in Advanced Practice to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The ANP will be a member of the first response team for the provision of Urgent and Unscheduled care, including primary care home visits in the community, NHS 24, custody care and Hospital @ Home level care.
This is a developing service and presents excellent opportunities for the development of skills and confidence, shaping the way rural healthcare is delivered within the remote-island location providing an unrivaled extra sense of responsibility and reward. Working closely with resident GPs, the Nursing Team, SAS and other primary and secondary care specialist clinicians. Peer support will also be provided from resident GPs and specialist teams throughout the Western Isles.
The service provides a 24‑hour response, seven days a week, 365 days per year. This post involves shift working, including overnight and weekends.
The ability, drive and commitment to work as part of a team, sometimes at a distance, and to contribute to the local development of primary care and acute services is important. You will be expected to support clinical colleagues, including medical, nursing, mental health and Scottish Ambulance Service colleagues.
For further information regarding this post, please contact Janette Murray, Urgent and Unscheduled Care Programme Manager, Janette.Murray@nhs.scot.
The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
