Position Summary The Logistics Coordinator has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities in the warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area, under the direction of the Operations Supervisor. Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality and to comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Training Responsibilities

Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to help achieve established customer demands.

Train associates on current Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.

Assist in forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates.

Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities

Oversee unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking/staging of outbound shipments in accordance with productivity targets; verify required paperwork with drivers.

Load orders accurately into appropriate doors and trailers.

Process all shipping, receiving, and picking functions as defined by SOPs.

Research discrepancies that may occur in the shipping and receiving process.

Customer Service

Conduct yourself professionally in appearance and communications.

Communicate with customers telephonically, electronically, or in person.

Prepare required activity reports for site management.

Quality Control Responsibilities

Ensure all product and/or orders are received, shipped, and picked correctly and accurately.

Verify products meet quality standards, report damages or discrepancies, and manage packaging and labeling.

Process all quality control functions as defined by SOPs.

Report inconsistencies to the Operations Supervisor or Manager and participate in quality meetings.

Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance

Comply with ISO standards, safety protocols, and OSHA/MSDS standards.

Execute all safety protocols and promote a safe work environment.

Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse and assist in security.

Participate in safety meetings.

Labor Management

Direct operations of the warehouse work team to achieve objectives.

Assist associates and temporary labor with productivity sheets and production hours.

Assist Supervisor in maintaining an effective workforce and scheduling.

Ensure associates handle products according to quality procedures.

Responsibility and Authority

Participate in department meetings.

Initiate actions to prevent non-conformities related to product, process, and quality.

Report all non-conformities to the Quality Department.

Equipment Operation

Operate equipment such as sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper/scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, aisle master, or pallet jack.

Maintain equipment and report problems; perform daily inspections and minor maintenance.

Operate all equipment safely and maintain active forklift certification.

Maintenance

Assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.

Other Duties

Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, appointments, greeting visitors, filing, and record‑keeping.

Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED.

1 year of experience in logistics/distribution or related environment.

Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE).

Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

Completion of a forklift training program.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Basic computer skills; RF scanners; WMS functions.

English (reading, writing, verbal).

Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for inventory and product handling.

Strong attention to detail, ability to perform duties with minimal supervision, and effective communication at all levels.

Adaptability and Thriving in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.

2–4 years of proven forklift experience.

Current or prior MHE certification.

Physical Demands Occasionally

Hand & finger manipulation, sitting, handling product and/or packaging materials.

Ability to Lift/Carry and Push/Pull

21–50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.

Work Environment The employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
