Radium Golf Group Overview

The Radium Golf Group owns and operates two 18‑hole courses in Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia. Located on the edge of Kootenay National Park, the courses offer stunning views of the Columbia River, Purcell Mountains, and the Rocky Mountains. The group includes the Springs Course, a world‑class course designed by Les Furber, and the Radium Course, a rugged 18‑hole layout that has hosted members and guests since 1956. The club features an extensive club house, a pending hotel addition, and a mineral pool for relaxation. Radium Golf Group is seeking a Head Professional to report to the Director of Golf and the Vice President of Eaglequest Golf. The Head Professional will be a personable leader who drives excellence, communicates effectively with members and staff, and champions the club’s culture and philosophy. Job Summary

Responsibilities include collaborating with the Golf Shop Manager and Director of Golf to ensure creative, profitable operations across both courses. The Head Professional will provide on‑course presence, manage events, retail, instruction, staffing, HR, and communications, and serve as the club’s visible representative. Responsibilities

Member Experience

Support the Director of Golf, Management and Ownership Groups in implementing the club’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values while collaborating with Golf Operations on golf and social opportunities. Grow strong relationships with Annual Pass Holders, enhancing trust and confidence. Maintain a visible and engaging presence in the Golf Shop and on course with members and guests of all ages. Address member concerns consistently with professionalism. Lead engagement with members and guests, maintaining a positive attitude. Human Resource Management

Support the Director of Golf in creating an engaging workplace culture. Develop an industry‑leading onboarding process for Golf Shop staff. Maintain and evolve the Standard Operating Procedure manual. Communicate proactively with management, members, and industry partners. Assist the Golf Shop Manager with employee scheduling and the ‘When I Work’ app. Help onboard On‑Course Marshals, Starters, and Outdoor Service staff. Retail

Lead and guide the retail team to deliver memorable customer experiences. Ensure strong inventory control measures are in place. Assist the Golf Shop Manager with monthly inventory counts and reports. Oversee purchasing, trends, merchandising, and in‑season opportunities. Establish brand partnerships clearly defined in the merchandising strategy. Maintain an organized and labeled merchandise display. Event Management

Oversee and execute all club leagues (Men’s, Women’s, Mixed) with their respective captains. Build constructive relationships with league representatives to deliver memorable event experiences. Assist with scheduling and executing junior camps. Ensure tournaments are set up, executed, and well represented by Golf Operations. Participate in weekday leagues and assist with league prizing. PGA Instruction

Develop advanced instruction programs for all member demographics, ensuring profitability. Continuously explore new ideas to expand instruction packages, establishing Radium Golf Group as a superior instruction facility in the East Kootenay Valley. Keep PGA staff engaged with new technology and coaching methods. Create a comprehensive off‑season instruction initiative for the golf simulator. Qualifications

The Head Professional will embody exemplary interpersonal skills, demonstrating collaboration, relationship building, integrity, humility, and passion for the industry. A forward‑thinking strategist with strong business acumen and commitment to continuous improvement. Excellent judgment and decision‑making with tact. A visible leader who motivates, takes pride in their team, and provides constructive feedback. Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Extensive experience in all aspects of the golf industry. Membership in PGA of Canada, Class ‘A’ Member, in good standing. Active participation in PGA Zone continuing education. Required golf operations experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Understanding of course administration and operational procedures. Strong organizational and detail‑oriented abilities. Project coordination and delegation expertise. Problem‑solving for complex issues. Familiarity with golf-related programs such as ‘Gallus Golf’ and ‘Club Prophet’. Compensation
